Consider various modes of travel …

By Air

For those flying in to meeting location, the nearest airport is Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).  Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) is a possibility for some, but it is farther away.  Wilmington, DE, with New Castle Airport (ILG) is closer still, but may offer fewer arrival and departure options, so we don’t recommend it.  At either of the other destinations, one must arrange for a shuttle ride from the airport to the hotel and/or the meeting location in Newark, DE. Use Delaware Express Shuttle Service for local travel to and from the airport. You will find a link to Delaware Express shuttle service below.

By Train

Newark's Rail Station on South College Avenue at Mopar Drive is served by both SEPTA and AMTRAK. Newark is the last stop on SEPTA's Newark line, located at #10 Mopar Drive in Newark.  The fare from Central Philadelphia by train is $6.25 one way. Regular AMTRAK service is available from nearby Wilmington station.

By Bus

For Eastern Seaboard people, the bus could be a desirable travel option.  For express bus service between New York City, Baltimore and Philadelphia, Richmond, Hampton, VA, and Washington DC, and Newark, consider Megabus.  Megabus coach seating offers Wi-fi, restrooms, power outlets, and relaxed riding for study.

By Automobile

Newark, DE is accessed along the I-95 north/south corridor.  The distance from the north, Philadelphia, is about 34 miles and takes about 45 minutes to drive.  From the south, from Baltimore, the drive is about 62.5 miles and takes about 1.5 hours; from Washington, DC, the distance is about 96 miles and takes about a 2.5 hrs. to drive. Use your GPS, Google Search, MapQuest or other navigational tool for precise directions.

Local Public transportation

Newark is well-served by public transit. DART First State buses, routes #6, 16, 33, 34, and 65, providing service to Wilmington, the nearby Christiana Mall, and Elkton, Maryland. Most routes travel through the University of Delaware campus.
