Throughout the month of October SNMA chapters continue to give back to their communities as a part of our National Community Service Initiative. Last week, Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build a house in Spartanburg, South Carolina. SNMA members ran clinic at the St. Louis University School of Medicine student-run clinic. Charles Drew Minority Pre-health Society volunteered at the soup kitchen. Meharry Medical College’s SNMA participated in the Nashville AIDS Walk and donated over $400 to AIDS research. Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine's SNMA chapter is expanding the Allen Neighborhood Center's Community-Supported Agriculture project so that they can provide fresh produce to an additional 30 families next spring.
As our month of service continues, we encourage chapters to share their news and photos using #SNMA50th, #SNMAservice and #SNMAthrowback. Tag us on your posts this month and throughout the year or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be a part of the I<3SNMA campaign and share your memories and thoughts on Facebook and Twitter, #IHEARTSNMA. The campaign kicked off last week as several members posted why they love SNMA, qualifying them to win one of the I<3SNMA t-shirts awarded to the first 20 people to post on Twitter. If you missed a chance to win a free I<3SNMA t-shirt, they will be sold at AMEC 2015. Below are a few I<3SNMA posts:
